August 14th is Pakistan's Independence Day every year, and various activities are held throughout Pakistan to celebrate independence.
This day commemorates Pakistan's declaration of independence from the Indian Empire controlled by Britain for a long time at 12 noon on August 14th, 1947, and its transformation into a self-governing territory of the Commonwealth, officially leaving British jurisdiction.
Pakistan is a thriving solar market, although official installed capacity data doesn’t indicate the scale of solar panels imported by the country, it can be seen from satellite imagery and artificial intelligence detection of solar panels.
Bloomberg New Energy Finance estimates that Pakistan's cumulative photovoltaic installed capacity at the end of 2023 is 12.7GW, and its total power generation installed capacity connected to the grid is 50GW.
By the first half of 2024, Pakistan had imported 13GW solar modules from China.
From the satellite image project conducted by Norwegian geospatial analysis company Atlas in April 2024, it can be seen that there are a total of 443 photovoltaic power plants in Pakistan, equivalent to 1.4GW-2.8GW of photovoltaic projects. However, this doesn’t include other smaller projects on the map, so the actual data should be higher than this.
According to Bloomberg NEF, Pakistan is expected to add 10GW-15GW of photovoltaic installed capacity by 2024, becoming the sixth largest market in the world.
As a world-leading Tier 1 photovoltaic module supplier, Sunpro Power is mainly engaged in R&D, production and sales of PV cells, PV modules, and investment in solar projects. We also provide professional OEM/ODM service for global customers.
Pakistan is located in the tropics and subtropics, with high temperatures, little rainfall and abundant sunlight resources. Sunpro's series of modules feature high efficiency, high power, excellent high-temperature performance, double-glass power generation, and anti-attenuation characteristics. Our products can make full use of local lighting resources and bring higher power generation benefits to photovoltaic projects.
Sunpro has been deeply involved in the Pakistani photovoltaic market for many years and has been actively cooperating with photovoltaic companies in Pakistan to help develop the local photovoltaic industry, promote industry exchanges and economic and trade exchanges between China and Pakistan.
